The podium keeps slipping away from Gabriel Rodrigowho at Le Mans – the venue hosting the fifth event of the 2019 Moto3 World Championship – gets very close to be top-3 by finishing fourth in a dramatic finale.
The rider number 19team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 was among the leaders for the entirety of the race, except for when he moved down to seventh place with less than ten laps to go after a coming together with Migno.
The Argentine rider tried to bridge the gap with the leaders while avoiding Arbolino and Suzuki’s crashes and was eventually fourth at the line after a good battle in the final stages with Canet, who preceded him at the chequered flag by a few hundredths of a second. Rodrigo is now eighth in the championship standings with 37 points.
Riccardo Rossi had an unfortunate race to wrap up a difficult weekend, despite finally finding the right feeling with the bike during the encounter. The Italian rode well in the early laps while keeping a good pace and staying with the group fighting for the top-15, before crashing at turn six with 16 laps to go.
